Valentine's Makeup | Soft Glam

Yesterday I showed you how I would do Valentine's Day with full beat, but today I'm here with a softer side. I wanted to keep this look so simple, no real contour, no brow bone highlight, just easy peasy under 5 minute glam. Matte shadow in the crease, a little shimmer on the lid, and another matte light shade in the inner corner. Blush on cheeks with a little highlight. Mascara & brows, a pretty pink lip that makes me think of spring and viola!

Valentine's Makeup | Full Glam

While I may not have any V-Day plans, there's nothing wrong with having a full glam look in your back pocket just in case. Here's what I would rock on a date where I needed to be beat to the max.

Eye deets | After taping off to create a sharp look, I went in with nooner in my outer crease, keeping it pretty low. Then I went in with limit which I took up from the crease. I used small circular motions to blend this shadow with nooner. I wanted to make the look a little sultry, but still wearable which is why I went with all of the lighter shades in the palette. Taking burnout and dust, I used them on the rest of my lid. For the inner corner, I took a mix of strange and dust. On the lower lash line, I went in with limit again working that unto the whole lower lash line. I took a small amount of nooner and used that just on the outer edge. To complete the look, I went in with strange on my brow bone.

Cover Reveal!

About Defining Her
Nellie Hawthorne is a woman who has it all. A devoted husband, her own business, a wealthy lifestyle. But the Nellie she is now is much different from her past. A past filled with abuse, addiction, and men. Nellie’s carefully constructed new life is suddenly in jeopardy when a blast from the past emerges in her small town and her overbearing mother-in-law starts pushing for grandchildren and questions start being asked. A budding new friendship presents itself at an opportune time, and a once friendless Nellie finds herself growing closer to Prue Doherty.
Prue Doherty is the quintessential good girl. Always making the right decisions, always playing it safe. Until she meets a man that could change all of that. Still reeling from a devastating breakup and betrayal that had her fleeing from Chicago and settling into suburb life with her mom close by, Prue finds herself in a damaging funk. But everything changes when she befriends Nellie Hawthorne.
Nellie is trying to escape her past. Prue wants that perfect future. While both women strive to change their lives, they continue to cling to the past. But what defines us? Who we were then . . . or who we are trying to be now? Lies, manipulation, and deceit are woven throughout the pages of this edgy women’s fiction novel, with an ending you won’t see coming.
This novel contains adult language & situations, including disturbing scenes.

Happy Release Day!

Anna Bloom's The Truth About Love is out now!
Eve Harris has always had a point to prove: where you come from doesn't matter, it's what you aim for that counts. She has it all planned; find the perfect teaching job, live with her best friend, Cherry, and never get dragged back into the destructive world of her youth.

The last thing she expects is to bump into millionaire heir Cameron Wallis on her last day on campus. Nor is she expecting to discover that when she gives him a chance to win her over he's nothing like the playboy the newspapers paint him to be.

Will Eve be able to let go of her judgements and embrace a spontaneous affair with Cam that isn't part of her plan? Or will the constraints from both their families prevent Cam and Eve from discovering The Truth About Love?

The Truth About Love Vol.I is the first novella in a serial About finding love even when you're least expecting it.

Anna is also hosting a giveaway on her author page to win an ebook and signed paperback of your choice -

Easy Valentine's Day Mani!

I may be single AF, but I appreciate Valentine's Day. I love all things pink and purple, so clearly this holiday is up there for me. Not to mention it opens the door for tons of fun content! With that being said, be sure to check back tomorrow for my Galentine's gift guide and I'll have a few more tutorials before the big day :)

To me there is something about a variation on a classic that leads to so many endless possibilities. This is my very girly and feminine take on the french manicure which is perfect for Valentine's Day or anytime you want a little something extra.

To start make sure you wash your nails with soap and water to get off any excess oil or polish remover. First go in with a sheer polish, I used OPI Sweet Memories to create a base that will add shine to the overall result, you can skip this step if you'd like to save time.

Next take your pink polish, I used Butter London in Teddy Girl which is one of my all time fave pinks, and make a V shaped starting about half way down the side of your nail. You can make these as big or as small as you'd like, I went pretty big for mine. I also went in and did two coats to get the polish to be as opaque as possible.

Once the V shape dries, go in with your french accent color.  I went with one of my fave lines of polish the Marc Jacobs Beauty in Gatsby which is a coppery, rose gold color (the website calls it a metallic champagne pink which are 3 of my favorite words). Starting on the top corner of your nail, slowly drag half of the brush over the top of your nail while rotating your finger towards the brush. The key for a free hand french, is to move the finger, NOT the brush. You can make the line as thick or thin as you'd like, but by moving the finger you have more control over the precision of the french tip.

Last, go in with your go-to top coat, mine is the Scehe Vite fast drying top coat. This is my favorite, holy grail top coat of all time. Viola, you have a mani that is cute and looks like it took a lot more time than it did, xo!
