a book in review!

Brief Summary
Perfect Drink: Green tea latte with coconut milk and raw honey.

Perfect Fashion Icon: The Duchess of Cambridge. Always on point with her fashion, dressing appropriately for every occasion and not afraid to recycle things from her wardrobe, I truly admire her class and style.
Perfect Place: Seattle.

Perfect Activity for Relaxation: Yoga. I’m terrible at it, but I’m determined to perfect downward dog. Someday.

For Seattle blogger Payton James, life is all about trying to achieve perfection. Payton is determined to be her best self in all areas, and she refuses to rest until she achieves it.

However, an imperfect moment in a coffee shop completely changes Payton’s life. When her drink order gets switched by mistake, Payton finds herself face-to-face with a gorgeous British man named Brooks. Payton is instantly attracted to the witty stranger who is quick with his words—and has a beautiful smile.

Brooks is an exotic veterinarian with a huge passion for animals. Heartache in his past has led him to focusing on his career out of fear of getting hurt again. But there’s something about Payton that makes this vet want to know more about the bubbly blogger he has met via fate—and has him reconsidering his stance on love.

But will Brooks ever be free of his fears to truly open his heart? And will Payton’s drive for perfection cost her the one thing she loves most? Or will she learn to embrace imperfections?

And maybe perfect is the one thing Payton doesn’t want after all . . .

Review:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  I know I say it every time, but Aven truly out did herself this time. Seriously. Aven was born to write romantic comedies. Her leads are always unique and their stories will have you hooked instantly. Brooks and Payton are no different! Payton strives for perfection and she feels like an old friend you want to help with her issues. And Brooks is just h-o-t, he's everything you want in a leading man...smart, funny, handsome, and BRITISH...I mean, yummmm! I recommend this 5 star book to anyone who loves a perfect romantic comedy, trust me you won't be disappointed. I can't wait until Aven's next novel, but until then, you'll find me at the coffee shop praying for a mix up with a hot vet, xo!

a book in review!

About the Book

She's funny, cynical, and kinda crazy, but she knows how to tell a story.

A struggling writer living in Manhattan, Jacy McMasters is the first to admit she's a terrific liar and a screw-up. Then the ghost of the famous novelist JD Balinger asks her to "channel" a follow-up to his classic coming of age book, The Watcher in the Sky. Along with her new boyfriend, a bear of a man who has no patience for mind games, the ghost in Jacy's head forces her to confront a lifetime of secrets—dark secrets. Secrets she's been keeping from herself.

Brief Summary:

Kinsley Moore and Lucas Graham make great friends. They make even better friends with benefits… Kinsley Moore doesn’t believe in love. As an independent, self-determined entrepreneur, she has other things to worry about. Besides, she knows guys are incapable of commitment, so there’s no use getting close. But when she meets Lucas Graham, her new landlord’s flirty, sexy son, she’s more than up for some casual fun. Lucas is in no way looking for a relationship either, so when he’s offered a no-strings, strictly friends-with-benefits hookup with a beautiful girl, the opportunity is too good to pass up. He’s not able to give his heart away, so it’s perfect Kinsley prefers to keep emotions out of their arrangement. Except when Lucas and Kinsley start to feel something more, their complicated pasts threaten to overshadow any chance they might have at a future together. Can Lucas prove he’s capable of love? Can Kinsley believe she is enough? **This book is for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content**

Review:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  Being completely honest, I follow Jessica's confetti bar on IG and am slightly obsessed with her feed. So when I saw she wrote books, I slid right into her DMs. I was so excited when she agreed to send me over her first book, Crazy Beautiful. I just knew I'd love her stuff and from the first paragraph, I knew I was right! I wanted more of Kinsley and Lucas right away. I couldn't wait to see what would happen with these two. Kinsley is such a cute, likeable lead and Lucas is just h-o-t. The best way for me to describe Crazy Beautiful is just a treat. It has everything you want in a no BS, real life rom-com. I can't wait to read more by Jessica cause this 5 star book, left me wanting more of her story telling, xo!

Author Bio:

When she’s not making confetti as head honcho over at The Confetti Bar (theconfettibar.com), co-dreaming with creative women through Monarch Workshop (monarchworkshop.com), and blogging about her health & wellness journey going sugar-free at Simple Unsweet (simpleunsweet.com), Jessica loves to spend her nights getting caught up in imaginary worlds. She lives in central CT with her husband, Clifford, and the cutest cat EVER, named Curious. She loves colorful things, making people smile, things that smell good, and is obsessed with lemon water. And glitter. Lots of glitter. She also loves, well…love. (She’s a sucker for a sweet story.) Review:
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This story is full of suspense and romance! I always enjoy stories that keep you guessing until the very end and Secret Crush doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed Victoria's pace of the book though there were a few times I thought I missed something. She does a great job of really building up the twists and turns and keeping you on the edge of your seat. John and Alice were the perfect leads to take on this story and I recommend this 4 star book to anyone who needs a new romsuspence (totally made that word up...!) in their life, xo!
